What To Expect

Tonle Sap Lake
From the moment you step onto our boats we will enter a world time seems to have forgotten, the first village is for most of the year, cut off by high water levels, making only boat travel available, the homes some 10 meters above you,are built on stilts to allow dry living all year round,of course villages going to the pergola, shops, schools ect have to use there smaller boats, our boats for this adventure have been designed especially for these villages and indeed the lake itself, they have flat bottomed hauls and are double hauled so can run aground without any damage, this allows us the ability to navigate up close and personable to the many rivers and of course the famous flooded forests that abound the lake, the crossing of the lake itself is an awesome way to see the local fisherman go about there daily lives, once we have crossed the Great Tonle Sap lake we enter another totally different floating fishing village, and dock with our Tara Riverboat for an amazing sunset

Kompong Phluk
The first (of 2) villages we visit is the little visited and quite unique stilted village of Kompong Phluk, the fishing village is completely cut off for most of the year and we have to use our specially built flat bottomed longtail boats for the cruise down the main street and entering the flooded forest our boats are doubled haulled and very strong,of course we also supply life jackets and our guide for this adventure was actually born in this village,in fact all our staff are locals from the villages you will visit, giving a deeper insight as to how daily life and challenges are under taken, the flooded forests, and there are many are a great place to relax, very cool and lots of wild life to be seen, we visit the pergola, which is an amazing sight to see once we enter, the training school for the monks, the local schools and school children are always happy to see us travel through, lots of smiles and waves, we support this village and its is indeed a very special place.
