Feeling like royalty in Angor Wat

Let me start by saying that I have arranged tours for groups of up to 26 individuals so have an appreciation for what it takes to provide good service in tourism with a often critical eye.

The folks at ASEAN Angkor are the best! First, they took the time to work with me on adapting their standard 3 day tour to my needs and specific timing in terms of my flights. They picked me up from the airport. The driver, Mr. Hansome, and guide, David, were knowledgeable, personable, and always on time. Cambodia is hot and humid. They always had a cold bottle of water handy and a cold wet towel to wipe away our sweat when we returned to the car.

My 19 year old son asked so many questions at each site and we both learned so much about Khemer empire, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

However, it is the personal touch and attention to detail that impressed me. They knew where to take the best pictures. They provided information on where to do laundry, where to get a massage, the best places to eat, and what to avoid in terms of tourist traps. The company owner checked in with me every day and was extremely responsive to messages over WhatsApp. His wife was even kind enough to make us personalized brackets as souvenirs of our experience. They even arranged for us to experience the Cambodian Zoo.

They are the best and there prices are very reasonable so if they are available you would have an outstanding experience.

Would highly recommend this team to organise and guide you around Siem Reap. It took all of the hassle out and we had an amazing time! Raksa was helpful in creating our personalised tour - but it wasn’t a rushed or touristy, it was the perfect balance. You can do as little or as much as you like! Our guide Mr David was extremely friendly, very informative and provided interesting insights and history, but was not overbearing at all. And he wasn’t intrusive or pushy when we just wanted to wander or simply relax and enjoy our time at the temples etc. Our driver Mr Handsome was equally great, always a smile on his face, having water and cold towels on the ready when we came back to the car. He likewise was humble and helpful but not intrusive. This friendly duo made our time seamless and effortless - they were always willing to go the extra mile to make our trip a rememberable experience. Highly recommend!
Amazing Experience + Experienced Guide

This is my second review writing for Asean due to unknown reasons that the previous review has been made disappeared by TripAdvisor.
I have been travelled to Cambodia and use Asean's tour guide for my guide for 3 days in Siem Reap in this March. The experience is absolutely fantastic and due to the pandemic, I am sorry for not re-writing this again till this late.

I absolutely recommend their services and their owner Mr. Raksa and his employees are very kind. The guide is very professional and gave us a lot of insights about their country. They are extremely professional and knowledgable. I am very happy to be guided by them to experience this beautiful country,

Highly recommend all of us to seek for their services for getting around Siem Reap and Angkor ! They know exactly where to take the best photos!
An Experience of a Lifetime

This review is a bit late, but had to be made. I won't say much about where we visited and all such details,a s you'll find those in the details of the various packages provided by Asean Angkor. I'll write more about my experience with Asean.

My wife and I visited Cambodia, mainly to see and experience Angkor Wat and the history of the Khmer Rouge genocide. Angkor Wat was on our bucket list and we had to tick it off.

I'll start with my experience with Raksa, the owner of the tour service. I have not experienced the professionalism from any tour operator till date, that I have experienced with Raksa. We wanted a custom private 4 day tour of Siem Reap and he was very accommodating in all our requirements, tastes and preferences. We were in touch mostly via mails and if we had any query, we always received a reply from Raksa within minutes, always. During our tour, Raksa regularly checked in on us. The tour guide provided by him was never late and arrived at our hotel to pick us up on time (before time to be precise). At the end of the tour we were presented with a beautiful pair of wrist bands, which were sewn by Raksa's wife.

I'll now say something about our tour guide - Raman. When we started our tour, I did not know that the experience would be so spiritual and meaningful. Being Hindus, we were interested in the historic aspect of Angkor Wat, the Hindu connection and the Kings who reigned in Siem Reap. Raman, with his descriptions of each small detail, would paint a picture of history, that would just take you to another place and era. Not only that, Raman is a very knowledgeable man about all the aspects about Cambodia. The pictures that Raman took of us are some of the most beautiful memories that we will have of Cambodia. I'll suggest you just give Raman your camera for the whole trip, he'll get all the best angles and backgrounds for you. At the end of the tour, we realized if we had a tour of Siem Reap without Raman, our trip would not have been even one-third the experience it has been for us.

After Siem Reap, Raksa also arranged for us to visit Phnom Penh via road in a SUV. The driver guided us through the main attractions there. The history of the Khmer Rouge genocide was a very heavy experience for us and all the other tourists around us.

At the end I would say, if you want to experience Siem Reap, you have to take the tours provided by Raksa, else you'll be missing out on something special. His tour plans are flexible and can be tailor made to your taste and your queries are always welcome by him. Ask for Raman to be your guide - he is the best.

Raksa - I wish you more success. Thanks for showing us Cambodia. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I am sorry for being so late with the review. Thank you for everything.
Great tour company

We just returned from a 3-day private tour for 2 (Treasures of Angkor), and couldn’t be happier with this tour company. We had an excellent tour guide (Sareik), who was knowledgeable, relaxed, and just fun to be with. He went at our pace, and was patient when we stopped for photos, or just wanted to linger and marvel at the beauty of the temples. The tour, itself, was just what we wanted. Visits to many of the temples, including a sunrise and sunset visit at Angkor Wat. We stopped off at nice places for lunch, as well. Sareik explained the stories behind the carvings at the temples, knew the history of the kingdoms, and was full of information. There was never an instance where he did not know the answer. We plan on returning to Cambodia, and will use this professional tour company on our next trip. We will also ask for Sareik to be our guide once again. Recommend.
