Overview

The Angkor National Museum is an archaeological museum dedicated to the collection, preservation and presentation of Angkorian artifacts, also to provide information and education about art and culture of Khmer civilization, with collections mainly dated from Khmer Empire's Angkor period circa 9th to 14th-century. Most of the artifacts were discovered in and around the Angkor archaeological sites nearby.

Angkor National Museum
Spend your morning or afternoon visiting Angkor National Museum which is an archaeological museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, and presentation of Angkorian artifacts, also to provide information and education about art and culture of Khmer civilization, with collections mainly dated from Khmer Empire's Angkor period circa 9th to 14th-century. Most of the artifacts were discovered in and around the Angkor archaeological sites nearby. The museum exhibits are arranged flowing single direction through themed galleries.

The Briefing Hall: The Museum Overture

Before marveling over the awe-inspiring galleries at the Angkor National Museum, visitors are invited the orientation which will introduce the museum and its amenities. Show scheduled for every 15 minutes and are available in 7 languages; Khmer, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, French and Thai.

Gallery D: Angkor Wat 

The gallery displays the history, spiritual concept and architectural technique of constructing the grand structure of Angkor Wat. It also explains the Angkor Wat's equinox phenomenon.

Gallery E: Angkor Thom

Explore Angkor Thom, the great capital, an architectural masterpiece of sophisticated technology combined with precious artwork created over many generations.

Gallery F: Story from Stone "The Evidence of the Past"

The gallery displays stone inscriptions found throughout Angkor that recorded important historical event.

Gallery G: Ancient Costume "The Fascination of Apsara"

Another spectacular example of art is the ancient Khmer clothing illustrated by sculptures of gods, goddesses, and the celestial dancers, or Apsara.
