Continue a drive for the intricately carved and well-preserved Banteay Srei. The detailed reliefs on this smaller sandstone structure are regarded as the finest, most skillfully crafted in Cambodia. Banteay Srei has only been accessible since the late 1990s, when the Khmer Rouge left the area. We end our touring at Angkor with lunch at the temple (own expense), and a short rest.

Neak Pean
Move to Neak Pean, an artificial island with a Buddhist temple.

Preah Khan
Construction of this site was commissioned by the great 'temple builder' Jayavaraman VII (in honour of his father) and a visit to this smaller site makes for an interesting contrast with the more imposing Angkor Wat. Preah Khan is currently being restored by the World Monument Fund and in places is in remarkably good condition.

Not to be missed!

I decided to sign up for the tour as I was amazed by the visit to the Angkor Wat complex (small circuit) several days prior. I was not disappointed. The Grand Circuit brought us to several ancient temples that are (surprisingly) still standing with their intricate carvings and designs on the walls. Banteay Srei is a sight to behold with its pink-orange hue sandstone temple structure surrounded by a moat. Our group was very lucky that the weather was nice and sunny. Even better, our tour guide, Mr Saruon was a very knowledgeable person with passion for the history of the temples and the Khmer kingdom. If you happen to be in Siem Reap for few days, this tour is not something to be missed!
A perfect day of temple exploring outside of Angkor Wat

This tour was one of my favorite activities in Siem Reap. The guide had extensive knowledge of the sites and I also learned a lot about modern Cambodian culture and society. I liked how this tour started out with some of the older temples and moved along to newer ones. This gave great insight into the evolution of temple construction and the growth of the Ancient Khmer kingdom. The island temple of Neak Pean was totally surreal to visit. Walking along a long bridge with monks and looking around at the surrounding reeds and water to make our way to this remote temple was sooo cool. The final temple of the day, Preah Khan was the absolute cherry on top. The carvings were insane. The guide provided plenty of water and the van was always nice and cool. I would advise you to bring an umbrella for the sun since many of the temples don’t have tree coverage and it’s HOT here in July/August. Also bring a couple snacks because this is a very long day of temple exploring but absolutely worth it. You won’t forgot this tour and what you’ll see and learn from it for the rest of your life.
Great day among beauty with a great guide

The temples of this tour may be less famous than those of the small circuit, they are beautiful, and Banteay Srei is a must. The guide was very good, very involved in his work, and he told us a lot not only about the temples but also about the way of life in Cambodia. A great way to see more of Angkor than the most famous!
Great tour, impressive temples!
