Overview

Visit a beautiful city Battambang, beautiful rice farm, experience Bamboo train and taste fruits and bugs with a Tuk Tuk tour. While you are on touring, you will enjoy with the local people’s lives about their different activities. Upon arrival to Bamboo Train, you will take around 1hr on its. It’s an unforgettable experience with bring to see rice farm, plantation, people houses, and green forest tree. Then, you will move on to the Ancient House which was built more than 100 years. You will be warming welcome from the house owner, and describe his/her house. At the afternoon, let’s move to Banan Temple where you have to climb up to mountain through the ancient stairs to see the temple. Then, we will move to Wat Ek Phnom. After exploring the temple, you will move to Killing Cave ( Sampov Mountain ) where you will see the victims’ skull and learn more of Khmer Rouge. Last but least, after seeing the Killing Cave. Then, heading to bat cave for sunset and it's time to test the beer.

What To Expect

Battambang Bamboo Train, mean norry or nori ( French word for lorry) is an improvised rail vehicle from Cambodia. Lonely Planet describes it as “Cambodia’s bamboo train”. Originally conceived as a logistical fix during the United Nations Transitional Authority of Cambodia period, the original “bamboo train” was a lorry system that operated on Cambodia’s rarely used northern rail line.

Mrs. Bun Roeung's Ancient House
The Mrs. Bun Roeung's Ancient House is one of the 20 heritage Khmer houses in Vat Kor village that is around 100 years old and is made entirely from hardwood. The old-style house has a wide veranda, vintage furniture and lightings and personal items belonging to the owners. The house is currently occupied but you can get a tour of the place and if you are looking for a place to stay, do make inquiries regarding the guest house located on the site. The owners have maintained a few vintage décor items and traditional everyday tools and equipment that use simple mechanism. The old construction consists of a raised floor that can be accessed by a staircase and is surrounded by a small orchard that has fruit plants. The place does take you to a much simpler time. If you love rustic places with a lot of soul and heart, a walk here will be mesmerizing!

Wat Banan Temple
Adapts the architecture of mid 11th century and the end of 12th century the temple was first built by king, Ut Tak Yea Tit Tya Varman II (1050-1066) and then was finally built by the king, Jarvarman VII (1181-1219). The temple is located on the top of approximate 400-meter heighten mountain at Kon Tey 2 commune, Ba Nan District in 25-kilometer distance from the provincial town by the provincial Road No 155 parallel to Sang Ke River. At the mountain's valley, there are Ku Teuk and two main natural wells, namely: Bit Meas and Chhung or Chhung Achey.

Battambang Bat Caves
DescriptionThe killing caves of Phnom Sampeau are a Khmer Rouge execution site on Phnom Sampeau, a hill 7 mi southwest of Battambang in western Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge killed their victims on top of the cave at the rim of a daylight shaft or ceiling hole and then threw the dead body into the cave.
