This is a great way to spend a day of sightseeing because it allows you to go at your own pace and spend as much time as you want at the sights that truly interest you.Bakong temple is to be found down a sandy track, at about 1500 meters from road 6.The turning is indicated by signpost 13kilometers from siem reap town in the direction of Phnom Penh city Cambodia.
The track initially approaches from the north on the same axis as the central sanctuary, which reveals itself at the far end, to the skirt the north-east quarter of the monument's second enclosure and lead to the end of the Eastern causeway, just before the remains of the second gopura. What To Expect

Often overlooked by visitors exploring Angkor Archaeological Park, Bakong is a 5-tier temple with its own unique charm. One of the earliest temples in the region, Bakong was built within a strict geometric matrix, a style recognizable in the later Angkor Wat. The temple grounds, with their many separate temples, are a nice break from the crowds at Angkor Wat, which is close by.
