What To Expect

Siem Reap
9:00am, your guide will meet you up at the lobby of your hotel. After briefing you the program and routing, we jump in a jeep and drive to Wat Thmei, which is known as the killing field, where skulls and bonds of the victims during Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 – 1979. The visit provides us a deep insight into the painful bloody rule of the Khmer Rouge.
Continue to war museum where you could learn the modern history of Cambodia through the war, it has a unique collection. Since 1999 the collection on display was gathered from where fighting took place (Anlong Veng, Siem Reap, Odor Meanchey). It is a mix of Chinese, U.S. and Soviet hardware. Before used in Cambodia, some of these war machines have even seen action during World War II.
At noon, drive to the countryside passing by the local market, lotus pond, and rice field etc… Upon arrival Chreav village, you are welcomed by the local host and walk you around the village to see the daily life of local people, the way people make how to make compost fertile and the organic vegetable farm. After vegetable farm tour, we come to a lovely traditional house where your local chef show you’re the different kinds of herbs/spices and the way to prepare the ingredients that you can do by yourself after. The cooking class includes a starter, 2 main courses, and a local dessert. You will learn some simple techniques to cook Cambodian food at home. At the end of the course, it’s time to enjoy your own Khmer food at this traditional local house.

After lunch, you will get blessed by Buddhist monk as a traditional Cambodian practice, it’s called water blessing. It involves bowls of blessed water being poured over your head while the monk chants harmoniously as he wishes you good luck, safe travel, and a long life with prosperity. At the end of the blessing, your wrist is garlanded with special thresh that signify the blessing and protecting for your holiday in Cambodia. After you get blessed, jump in the US Army Jeep and drive back to your hotel.
