Overview

We will visit the river is located on a 150m stretch of the Steung Kbal Spean River which is around 25km from the main group of temples near Angkor Wat. There are also other Hindu mythological motifs including carvings of Hanuman, Lakshmi, Rama, Vishnu, Shiva, and Brahma. After lunch, we will start the tour with a short journey to Banteay Srei which is a beautiful temple located about 35km outside of Siem Reap town. You'll also have the opportunity to stop at a local community along the way and I will help you to experience the daily life of the locals living there. We can also taste some palm wine and palm sugar (depending on the season) and try other local products.

What To Expect

Kbal Spean

Kbal Spean is described as "a spectacularly carved riverbed, set deep in the jungle to the northeast of Angkor". The river over which the bridge head exists is also known as Stung Kbal Spean, a tributary of the Siem Reap River that rises in the Kulein mountains north of Banteay Srei. The river bed cuts through sandstone formations, and the many architectural sculptures of Hindu mythology have been carved within the sandstone. We have to walk 1500 meters from Parking area to thousand lingas area, it takes time aroun 45-50 minutes.

Visiting Banteay Srei Temple that most of the popular one with pink sandstone temple with the best carving even Angkor Wat temple cannot compare which was built in 10th century. It takes time drive there 50 minutes to 1 hour.
