What To Expect

Independence Monument
Our Phnom Penh Evening Food and Beer Tour takes you to the heart of Cambodian cuisine, visiting the kind of mom-and-pop restaurants that the major guidebooks don’t know about. In order to cover the ground between these spread out destinations, we’ll travel by tuktuk, zooming past some of Phnom Penh’s best-known landmarks in a tuktuk, covering a total distance of around 10km. The tour kicks off at a streetside noodle joint where we’ll add local veggies and herbs on top of the nation's most popular dish. Our next couple stops are at tiny family-run restaurants where you can see them preparing their specialties. Travel through Cambodia's past and learn how the country's war-torn past has influenced modern cuisine. Pull up a plastic stool and watch life pass by while eating shoulder to shoulder with other locals. The tour ends at a lively rooftop bar where you can grab a pint of local craft beer or a cocktail made with local rum.

Great opportunity to learn more about the food-culture
Bico15, 11-08-2022
We booked this food tour in Phom Penh Last Minute and it was a great decision. Our guide picked us up on time, and showed us the food experience in Phnom Penh in an easy way – walking through the streets, he stopped at points where he had to explain something, simply tried food and shared some more background about it.
Overall a great adventure to experience local food, and a good opportunity to learn more about culture and history of Cambodia.
Great introduction to food and culture

This was a great way to discover local food and what we like. Me and my partner went and there were two other people which was nice to speak to them and hear about their travels. Our tour guide Yi was awesome he spoke English very well and explained about all the local cuisines and culture.
Wonderful intro to Phnom Penh

After a seventeen hour flight from the U.S., it seemed a bit ambitious to take an evening food tour of Phnom Penh on our first night in the city. But, our guide from Lost Plate made the tour a wonderful eye- and palate-opening experience. We began at a restaurant favored by locals for its freshly made noodles and local vegetables and herbs. We visited three other restaurants, a street stand featuring “churro-like” fried bread and ended the evening at a bar upstairs with a view of the street scene below. All of us, including our Swiss tour companion/now friend, enjoyed the great food and conversation. A wonderful first evening in this fascinating city.
Best experience in Phnom Penh

This was hands-down the best thing we did in a whole month in Cambodia. The food was amazing of course, but the best thing was experiencing it with such a knowledgeable and fun guide. We've got a whole new appreciation for Khmer cuisine - this tour is a MUST-DO!
Excellent experience, over priced overall

The guide and the food were really excellent. He was friendly, Knowledgeable and easy to be around for 4 hrs. The bar stop at the end was a really nice way to finish the evening.
However…we feel Viator charged way too kick for this experience. The other couple with us had paid less and we feel the price does not reflect the experience. *NB: this is not a reflection on the guide, what he did could not have been better* We just feel the price should have been lower.
